受此影響，從1994年開(kāi)始，北京、上海、廣州等國內大中城市相繼在5月5日舉辦義診咨詢(xún)活動(dòng)，同時(shí)宣傳愛(ài)眼日的意義。
1996年，國家衛生部、國家教育部、團中央、中國殘聯(lián)等12個(gè)部委聯(lián)合發(fā)出通知，將愛(ài)眼日活動(dòng)列為國家節日之一，并重新確定每年6月6日為“全國愛(ài)眼日”。
