　　My Father

　　When I was:

　　Four years old: My daddy can do anything.

　　Five years old: My daddy knows a whole lot.

　　Six years old: My dad is smarter than your dad.

　　Eight years old: My dad doesn't know exactly everything.

　　Ten years old: In the olden days, when my dad grew up, things were sure different.

　　Twelve years old: Oh, well, naturally, Dad doesn't know anything about that. He is too old to remember his childhood.

　　Fourteen years old: Don't pay any attention to my dad. He is so old-fashioned1.

　　Twenty-one years old: Him? My Lord2, he's hopelessly out of date.

　　Twenty-five years old: Dad knows about it, but then he should, because he has been around so long.

　　Thirty years old: Maybe we should ask Dad what he thinks. After all, he's had a lot of experience.

　　Thirty-five years old: I'm not doing a single thing until I talk to Dad.

　　Forty years old: I wonder how Dad would have handled it. He was so wise.

　　當我四歲的時(shí)候：爸爸可以做任何事。

　　當我六歲的時(shí)候：我爸爸比你爸爸聰明。

　　當我八歲的時(shí)候：爸爸并不是知道每一件事。

　　當我十歲的時(shí)候：在爸爸成長(cháng)的舊日里，事情和現在完全不同。

　　當我十二歲的時(shí)候：哦，很顯然，爸爸對于那件事什么也不知道。他太老了，回憶不起自己的童年了。

　　當我十四歲的時(shí)候：別管我爸爸。他太守舊了。

　　當我二十一歲的時(shí)候：他？上帝，他是無(wú)可救藥地過(guò)時(shí)了。

　　當我二十五歲的時(shí)候：爸爸對此了解，但是這是他應該了解的，因為他已經(jīng)經(jīng)歷了這么多。

　　當我三十歲的時(shí)候：也許我們該問(wèn)問(wèn)爸爸他是怎么想的。畢竟他有很多經(jīng)驗。

　　當我三十五歲的時(shí)候：除非我和爸爸談?wù)�，否則我不能做任何事。

　　當我四十歲的時(shí)候：我想知道爸爸會(huì )怎樣處理這件事。他是如此明智。

　　當我五十歲的時(shí)候：如果爸爸在這，我會(huì )把所有的東西都給他。太遺憾了，我沒(méi)有意識到他是多么明智。我本能從他身上學(xué)到更多。
